David Hamlett

A faithful, daily presence for loving our neighbors and making disciples. This is the purpose of Chicago Neighbors South, a rented Navigator storefront at 214 E 71st Street in the Park Manor community on Chicago’s south side. David Hamlett has been serving this community with his church, Chicagoland Bible Fellowship, with a weekly Saturday corner outreach. He has partnered with the Navigators to use the storefront to expand the availability to engage with people in conversation and prayer, to provide some resources and make referrals for social services, and to provide an environment conducive to study and faith development. Park Manor has been a marginalized community with a poverty rate above 60 percent where only 12% are married couples. There is an entrenched subculture of substance abuse and violence. David is seeking the peaceful flourishing of the Park Manor community as a testimony to Chicago and to the world of the loving power of God in lives obedient to Him in Christ Jesus.
