Jon Hans lives in Waterford, Michigan, with his wife Annette and their two children. His mission is to “Transform workers, renew workplaces, and restore the biblical view of work, all to reach the world for Christ.”
Through the Barnabas Initiative, Jon engages retirees by pairing them as mentors with mentees from the same industry, company, or local community. Every mentor is called to be an encourager, and many step into deeper discipleship opportunities, passing on wisdom and faith to the next generation of workers.
Jon also helps establish Navigators Workplace Ministry chapters in local churches, both formally and informally recognized. These serve as Missional Training Centers, equipping and developing workplace insiders to view their everyday work as a mission field. We deploy people through Workplace Mission Trips, which restores the Biblical model of missions as a way of life. Rather than training people and sending them, we send them first to see where they need training, allowing God to shape them through reliance upon the Holy Spirit. The vision is to see insiders in every workplace embracing the personal responsibility: “To know Christ, to make Him known, and to help others do the same.”
Whenever three or more believers gather in a workplace, they form a missional community, a hub of fellowship, transformation, and mission within that company or context. Jon’s passion is to see these communities multiply until every workplace is touched by the presence of Christ.
