 When Jesus looked out on the crowds he described them as harassed and helpless, like sheep without a Shepherd. If Jesus were to look at the masses of students at UCSD today he’d likely see something similar – the next generation of leaders spending their lives in pursuit of success, security, and partying. The very things they pursue leave them feeling empty and hopeless.

    As Campus director of The Navigators at UC San Diego, John desires to see young men and women find true and satisfying life in Christ. Through personal evangelism, small-group Bible Study, and life-to-life discipleship, he shares his life with students and helps them discover the transforming power of the gospel. As the Holy Spirit works in their lives, he joins with Him to help them become mature disciples of Christ. Then, he helps train them to pass on the things they have learned to others. John and Kimberly’s vision is that God will continue to use the ministry at UCSD to make spiritual generations of disciples who will fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord (Habakkuk 2:14).

John met The Navigators his first day of college at The University of Arizona in 2012. After having his life transformed by Jesus through the freedom of the Gospel and vision for multiplying disciples, John joined staff. In 2018 he moved to San Diego to join the UCSD ministry. In 2022 John and Kimberly met on a blind date. In 2023 John became the Campus Director at UCSD and proposed to Kimberly. In 2024 they got married and in 2025 welcomed their daughter Lyla to the family! The Crossmans thank God for the many blessings He has given them and the privilege it is to minister to their staff and students.
