Since 1991, Marc and Yumiko Leis have been reaching out to Japanese young people in Japan going on 35 years now. After serving for 13 years in the BEST Club college ministry, Marc and Yumiko transitioned to reaching out to local Japanese children and youth and their families since 2004. For the next 13 years we used English Classes, Cooking classes, Adventure Club in English (ACE Club), Jr. High Friends Club, volunteer activities at 2 local Jr. High schools, and parties in our home to reach over 350 Japanese young people and their families with the Good News of Jesus. For the past 7 years, we have been involved in church planting in Shizuoka, discipleship in a church context, and training leaders in how to do one-on-one discipleship as well as returning to Collegiate ministry. Yumiko is supporting Pastor's wives, Missionary wives, and other single Women in Ministry while continuing to reach out to local women with the Gospel.

Since the beginning of 2021, we are volunteering at 3 local churches to help with Discipleship and the Children's Programs while continuing our Collegiate ministry at 2 local universities. These last 4 years have seen MANY students coming to Christ and both Marc and Yumiko have been able to disciple those new believers to the point they are reaching out to others.

For most of the Japanese we meet, we are the first Christians and the only Christians they have ever met. Right in the heart of the 10:40 Missions Window, Japan is considered to be the 2nd largest "unreached" People group in the world with only 1/2 of 1% of the population who identifies with Christ.

We also have 3 children of our own, Joseph Shinji, Joy Maki, and Benjamin Takeshi who are all working young adults.
