Mike Whitney serves the US Navigators as the Northeast Division Director for the Disciple Makers For Life (D4L) Mission. In this role, Mike oversees the D4L staff and ministries from Maine to Virginia including Amherst, MA, Boston, Hampton Roads, VA, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, ME, Rochester NY and Washington DC/Baltimore. The purpose of the D4L mission is to advance the gospel and equip/resource everyday, generational disciple makers in churches, neighborhoods, workplaces, prisons, high schools, sports teams, friend groups, communities and among people of all ethnicities and socio-economic strata. Previously, Mike served as Interim Director, Staff Development and Care (now Train-Develop-Care TDC), the Director of Cultural Development and the Northeast Collegiate Regional Leader.
Mike & Narelle have 11 children, five of which are married and eight grandchildren. Currently they live in Topsham Maine with their three youngest children. Mike is a former pastor of the First Baptist Church, Freeport, Maine. He worked as a nuclear engineer for 25 years in Maine and New York, did prison ministry for 16 years, and served on the finance/budget advisory committee for the Town of Topsham and Sagadahoc County for many years. Mike and Narelle desire to see the gospel of Jesus advance into the lives of the next generation in Maine, the Northeast, the US and worldwide through generations of disciple makers living and discipling among the people.
