Navigators 20s
Washington, D.C.
Anne Cregger
I joined The Navigators in 2010 and serve as the Nav20s City Director in DC and Northern Virginia. My work and privilege is to serve young people who find themselves here in the Nation’s Capital: to connect with them and to help them see what God’s doing right where they are --- and to hear his call to join Him in that work.

According to the Census Bureau, Arlington, Virginia has the highest concentration of people between the ages of 25 and 34 in the nation. Let that sink in for a moment. Because of our location, right next to arguably the most influential city in the world, this population of 20s represents a window into the future of our country and of the gospel’s movement into all nations. Today 20% of Americans consider themselves “non-religious.” Of those under age 30, the percentage rises to 33%. It is the passion of the Nav20s that those young people who do know and long to follow Christ successfully carry what God has given them into the rest of life. We want them to be fruitful “lifetime laborers” who love God and have the depth and desire to follow Him into a lost world. We are committed to seeing this happen among our grads, their friends, and all who find their way to us, regardless of their faith background. We want to support them wherever they are, wherever they live, work, and play. For a closer look at the Nav20s’ vision and mission, please visit the website at www.nav20s.org.

As far as background: I am a native of the Washington, DC and Northern Virginia area. My work with people in their 20s started in 1994 with the launch of The Falls Church Fellows Program here in this area.I drink gallons of coffee every week, mostly with people in this age group who are in graduate school or already in professional and non-professional jobs in the Metro area. Just before joining the work of The Navigators my professional work was in the field of leadership development: I worked in federal contracting and non-profits, knowledge management, organizational development and facilitated many discussions around issues of emotional intelligence. I’m married to George Patterson, a practicing ophthalmologist who practices in Maryland and Washington, DC. Between us we have six grown children and two grandchildren. We love living in the North Arlington area of No. Virginia in an intentional Christian community setting: 4-5 unrelated-by-blood adults sharing a "single family" home. It’s challenging, but by God’s grace, it works.
