Together, Shaunda and I have been serving with The Navigators since 1982. My first assignment was as an assistant to then International President Lorne Sanny. Shaunda and I married in 1984 and moved to Austin to work as collegiate staff at The University of Texas in Austin. In 1989, we were invited to move back to Colorado Springs and lead Eagle Lake Camp.
In 2001 I was asked to also assume responsibility for Glen Eyrie. We quickly formed the Glen Eyrie Group, which encompasses the camp and conference ministries for The Navigators. It was a great honor to oversee the unprecedented growth of Eagle Lake and the remarkable reconstruction of Glen Eyrie after the fires, floods and major construction projects we carried out.
In the fall of 2019, we transitioned from The Glen Eyrie Group to give full attention to an idea God had given us five years previous called The Apprentice Approach. Many Christians struggle with making disciples. They feel busy overwhelmed and not qualified. We understand this struggle, which is why we’ve created a Bible-based framework so any believer can master the art of disciplemaking. The Apprentice Approach consists of blogs, vlogs, e-mails, podcasts, roundtable events and our own personal one-on-one times with people. Our goal is to see people say, “I can do this!”
Our mission in the context of The Navigators is to “help everyday people master the art of disciplemaking.” We’re about disciplemaking to the 4th generation.
Our growing family keeps us smoking meat for meals and playing lots of games with our kids and the 4 going on 5 grandkids. As Oma and Opa we couldn’t be happier. We love spending time with our family camping, mountain biking, hunting, skiing and yes of course, watching the Green Bay Packers together.
To know that you are with us in this calling is such a blessing. We are honored to have you join us through prayer and your financial support.
Thank you for your partnership, we are so very grateful!
