Sarah first met The Navigators as a freshman at Boston University in the fall of 2010. While she pursued a degree in human physiology tracking towards medical school, God greatly used The Navigators community at BU along with her mentor, Becca, to deepen her walk with God. She saw that not only could her life be transformed by God, but she could help others around her experience that transformation, too! In her 3rd year at BU, God made it clear that she was to “pause” going to medical school immediately after university, which opened the door for her to join staff with The Navigators upon graduation in 2014.
After spending many years doing campus ministry in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Boston and for the past 5 years in NYC, she took a sabbatical in 2023 and asked God “what do you have next for me?”
After sabbatical, Sarah has split her time between the TDC Department of The Navigators (Train Develop Care) and New York City. In TDC she spent 1 year on The Life and Leadership Coaching Team while attaining her professional coaching credential through the International Coaching Federation. She also was the Staff Professional Development Director in NYC during that time.
As of Spring 2025, Sarah continues to split her time in TDC on the Leader Development Leadership Team and locally in NYC as the Chief of Staff. These roles align with Sarah’s gifting and passion of investing in and equipping the next generation of leaders to share the gospel in their own countries and contexts. She now does this through training and coaching leaders locally in NYC contributing to the work of the NYC Navigators and through the coaching team with leaders all over the United States.
A verse that she holds onto as a promise for New York City, where she lives, is Isaiah 62:12, “And they shall be called the holy people, the redeemed of the lord; and you shall be sought out, a city not forsaken."
