Stephanie: I came to Christ through the Navigators at University of California San Diego in 2015, and after graduating I sensed God leading me to join staff with the Navigators to help other college students grow closer to Him. I have served at UCLA, Northern Arizona University, and at the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
Jonathan: I was apart of the Navigators while in college at Northern Arizona University. I also served as mentor in the Navigators Native Nations Network ministry called Native R.I.S.E. (Rising Indigenous Student Empowerment). This is a mentoring program for Native high school students, also provides a natural opening for sharing the gospel. Given many ministry opportunities during my time in college I felt God leading me to do this full time.
Jonathan and Stephanie met at the Navigators at Northern Arizona University, and got married in 2023.
We love being able to minister to college students, and help them take steps towards Jesus. We're passionate about life-to-life discipleship, and equipping students to walk with Jesus for a lifetime. We've seen God's transformative power at work, and are grateful to be apart of it. We are excited that we now get to do this ministry together!
We served together for about at year at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. God called us back to NAU to help pioneer a Native RISE ministry at the college level. We get to walk alongside Native students as they begin the transition to college, which can be challenging for anyone, but especially for those coming from a different cultural context. We create a safe space for students to express themselves, grow in life skills, have fun and learn more about who Jesus is.
We love the uniqueness of our current ministry role that we get to influence high schoolers, college students, and the community.
